As history has shown us, there is little we can do to predict when a disaster will strike, or anticipate the effect it will have on our community. United Way has been involved in disaster recovery for many years, even before Hurricane Katrina. Most recently, the February 2012 storms in southern Illinois, UWSI was able to help with items donated from all across the country.
Why are we involved?
- This is what we do
- The community looks to United Way for unmet human needs
- United Way has multiple resources available through 2-1-1, relationships with community organizations, corporations, foundations and volunteers
